SAP Connect: Learn and Grow

Some insights from the online session by SAP LABS. I had an opportunity to attend this online google meet session held by SAP LABS, one of the major recruiters from our UVCE. It was a very friendly, approachable session with conversations from both the sides.

Meet the Hosts

Best part was that it was hosted by one of our seniors:

Likhith Palya
ECE, 4th Year
Goutham
AIML, 2026 Batch
Karthik
ISE, 4th Year

Major part of the session was addressed by Likhith anna, while interview preparation was discussed by Goutham anna.

About SAP LABS India

  • 🏢 Definition: SAP stands for “Systems, Applications, and Products in Data Processing”.
  • 🌍 Origin: German origin company, started by 5 former IBM engineers.
  • 📍 Campus: They have a very big 21 acres campus in Whitefield and recently opened up a new office at Devanahalli.
  • 💼 Business Model: They are B2B service based company, Business to Business, means they provide services to major big giants that in turn provide services to end users/customers.
  • 🤝 Clients: SAP has wide range of clients across the world, Global Giants like Apple, Microsoft, Amazon. In India Infosys, Wipro, TCS, HCLTech, etc.
  • ☁️ Focus: SAP LABS is the world’s largest enterprise needing ERP and business software. They focus on cloud, AI, analytics, etc.

The Interview Process (5 Rounds)

Now, about some major points discussed by Gowtham anna. Firstly, SAP conducts five rounds of interviews.

1
Online Assessment/Test Questions are given and you have to solve those by coding. For him both questions that were asked were from arrays, one question was easier level and the other was medium to hard level.
2
Technical Round 1 You are asked questions on DSA, be thorough with that. Try to be confident with your answers.
3
Technical Round 2 Questions based on particular domain related. Concentrate more on DBMS, OOPS, System Design, Computer Networks, Cloud. Be strong in one/two domains in which you can answer any questions that are asked.
4
Technical Round 3 Questions based on roles that you are being hired.
5
HR Round He termed it as “chill” round. He was asked questions regarding his college life, some just 10-15 minutes talk. Will he be able to work at weekends, etc. Such type of personal questions.
💡 Insight: He also told that he struggled in some rounds. It’s not important to know all the questions asked by the interviewer, but you should be able to present that you are trying to solve by some methods, atleast in DSA queries.

Likhith Anna's Experience & Advice

Then, Likhith anna shared his interview experience. It was pretty much similar to Goutham anna’s explanation with additional points.

  • Assessment Difference: His online assessment had one question from arrays and the other from hashmaps unlike Gowtham anna’s where he had both questions from arrays to code and solve.
  • Branch & Concepts: He said that despite being from ECE, a circuital branch, he had made his core CSE concepts better. He was thorough in DBMS. He impressed the interviewer with this thing.
  • Projects: He added that you must be ready with two/three solid projects so that you can make the interviewer get involved in your projects and be confident that you are the right person to hire. In technical round 2/3, he made the interviewer so involved in his projects that made the impression great.
  • Eligibility: Also a point that he added, currently SAP LABS hires only technical/core branches and not from CIVIL/MECH.

Q&A Highlights

Then in meeting there was a short Q/A round, students were asked to put up their queries to Likthith anna, some questions were really good.

🎓 Does SAP LABS require certain CGPA cutoff? It does not matter much, but it’s better if it is above 8.5.
💼 Does SAP LABS have some internships? Yes they do, in early 5th semester summer internships.
💰 What is the average salary at SAP LABS? I myself had the curiosity and asked him. To which he smilingly replied that CTC was above 25LPA, also added that he could not reveal anything more.
📝 Is there some resume template for SAP? He replied Yes. He also mentioned a website Overleaf.

Conclusion

All in all, it was a fantastic session, just amazed by the experiences shared by Gowtham anna, Likhith anna and Karthik anna. Truly inspiring and motivating, got to know many new things about history of SAP, it’s work, it’s requirements in today’s scenario, wide range of applications.
